Course Overview
Defensive driving is an essential skill required to save lives, time, and money, despite the conditions beyond the drivers control and the actions of others. Drivers encounter different
conditions that require different courses of action to ensure safety. In addition, drivers and duty holders must make sure that vehicles used in the workplace are safe, driven safely, and regularly maintained, repaired, and inspected.
This course focuses on enhancing the skills of drivers in the corporate world. It covers the key skills in the driving profession such as defensive driving through hazard recognition and application of accident and collision avoidance techniques, transport planning, vehicle inspection and
maintenance and the associated health and safety.

Course Objectives
By the end of this Training Participants should be able to

• Understand the organizations they work for in terms of structure and mandate as well as their role as drivers and the contribution they, make towards attainment of organizational objectives.
• Recognize how the physical, emotional, mental conditions of the driver may affect the driving habits and the impact it has on other road users
• Know the importance of defensive driving and the practical skills and techniques required of a driver in conditions beyond one’s control to avoid accidents on the road saving the vehicle and the lives of other road users.
• Know how to effectively inspect a vehicle, use modern tools to conduct basic diagnostics on vehicle systems, and schedule maintenance and repairs.
• Recognize and be apple to follow health, safety and security precautions in driving and workshop maintenance
